There are always options… It is only about reasoning and choosing the right one where every man suffers!!
I just recently connected my blog with my facebook account. So I guess I can see some more traffic than usual. I also do accept all kinds of reviews and also suggestions for me to write about. This is a test post so that I can test the connection myself.
The Anna Cenetary Library is located in Kotturpuram nearer to the Anna University campus. This is a magnificent complex storing very recent books and of varied subjects.
It is very near to the IIT Madras campus and each time I passed by this building I wish why havent I yet checked this out. So out of m profound abundance of free time this summer.
The library is a 8-storey building fully air conditioned is a beautiful place. It has books on almost all the common topics of study. You cant take your bags inside and there is a deposit counter just near the gate.
The division of books on each floor is like this:
Tamil Section, Children’s section, Braille section, own reading section.
General Knowledge,Computer Science,Library&Information Science,Philosophy,Psychology,Ethics and Religion,Sociology,Statistics and Political Science.
Economics,Law,Public Administration, Education,Commerce,Language- Linguistics and Literature(Fiction).
General Science, Mathematics,Astronomy,Physics,Chemistry,Geology,Biology and Medicine.
Engineering, Agriculture, Food Science and Management, Architecture, Fine Arts and Sports.
History,Geography,Tourism and Travel Management and Biography.
The sections are carpeted and the AC is comfortable soothing. The sad part is that they have not started issuing membership cards. So all books are for reference only. There is no announcement on when the membership will be issued and the only one open now is for Children.
For anybody in Chennai who at least is partially inclined to visiting a library you should check this out. And they have a blog also :
You can check this out for their latest updates.
You know this last sem has been one of those times where I was thinking “Oh! This can be a very good post for my blog. “And then later I would think “Oh! If only I had the time to write.”
Ya! Ya! I know what you all must be thinking. How long does it take to write a damn post. But you know it takes a lot of thinking before you sign into this wordpress account and start writing about it. I had joined in this thing called post a weekly. But ya right! I didnt even write continuously for a month. Kind of pathetic though. Considering how useless and wasteful this last semester has been. No good grade to be proud of and not much big achievement to boast around. But ya I was in my usual crap load of work and everything.
Sometimes the things you do make you wonder is it really worth it. Like studying or writing a blog even! For whom am I writing? Is it for me to read later or is it to show some random guy what and all I can blabber and how useless his/her life is, to sit and read my stupid posts.
To all my friends who are reading this. Dont worry am ok. This is just a lashing out post that I wanted to write for a longtime. There are things that sometimes makes you feel wasted and worthless and all. At that point it is useful to lash out. What am I lashing about? There is no use of getting good grades when you dont feel good at learning that subject. You think you might be interested in them but in the end it is just as how one of my well-acquainted IIT prof would say,” CGPA is a measure of how well you can survive even in conditions that you dont like than a measure of your academic competence” .
I had a chance to visit Delhi this summer. It is an awesome place and for all the filthiness that is spread around the public transportation system in India it was a very clean experience. One of the main things that I liked about it was the Metro.
After living in Mumbai for 3 years I can definitely say that I have seen the worst of the scenes around travelling in a train. People eating gutkha right beside and throwing away the rest in the train itself, spitting at the nearest wall possible to make it all RED; the unwarranted pushing and pulling of people while boarding and leaving the train; the techniques of standing in between the seats to make sure you get the seat if any one of the person leaves; everything!
But in Delhi metro, I was shocked to see that people stand in line to board the train. I saw such things only in stories of Japan and other nations but I couldnt believe my eyes! And the station was very clean and actually it was encouraging to see a 200 rupees fine for spitting. Generally the train tracks are the worst as it is the common man’s dustbin but that too was as if it was newly laid.
Though some of the n0n-fairer sex wont agree to be a good idea there is a separate compartment for ladies. And Delhi definitely needs it because they dont call it the rape capital of India for nothing!
The new T3 terminal of Delhi airport is also a peach and I think Chennai aiport can also learn a lot from it. It is mostly because it is privately developed and stuff but ya it is way better than Chennai. It was like I was in a mall inside an airport once I was in the Departure lounge.
It was definitely a very good trip to the city and I really wished to go more than once again. Hope I can upload some good photos here too. 🙂
Oh ya! I got a new laptop. DELL 15R. It is way better compared to my desktop which I have been using for the past year and have been having it with me at home since high school.
Hard Disk: 500 GB vs 80 GB.
RAM : 4GB vs 256 MB.
Graphics Card : 1 GB vs 256 MB
Processor: I5 vs P4.. ( Duh its like Mark Zuckerberg before Facebook and after !! )
I am LOVING it…. 🙂
